Seekers New to the Siddha Yoga Path

Everyone is welcome to attend satsang at the Siddha Yoga Meditation Center in Houston. The Sanskrit word satsang literally means the “company of the Truth.” On the Siddha Yoga path, Truth refers to the highest Reality, the Supreme Self. Satsang refers to seekers coming together to experience the Truth within their own being, through Self-actualization, and by engaging in the spiritual practices of meditation, chanting, study of the Guru’s teachings, darshan, and dakshina.

Dress Guidelines

To honor the sacred atmosphere, all who attend are asked to dress modestly.

  • Clothing must be clean and in good repair.
  • Clothing must be modest (not low-cut, sleeveless, revealing, or sheer).
  • Sweatpants, sweatshirts and other exercise clothing, while suitable for hatha yoga classes, are not typically suitable for satsang and other meditation and chanting programs.
  • Shoes should be worn in all public areas except the Meditation Hall.

For the complete center schedule, please see the Calendar of Events.
