Seva is selfless service offered to God and the Guru, performed as a pure offering, without attachment to the results of one’s actions and without desire for personal gain. Performing seva is a way to cultivate the steady awareness of your union with the Self, the divine Consciousness within, even while engaging in action.
You are invited to participate in the practice of seva, which is one of the core Siddha Yoga practices. Some people offer seva in areas in which they have skills while others offer seva in areas that require them to cultivate new abilities. On the Siddha Yoga path, every seva is considered equally important.
At the Siddha Yoga Meditation Center in Houston, we have ongoing seva opportunities during our programs, seva offerings from home, as well occasional seva projects and singular needs for assistance with our programs or operations. No seva offering is too small and everyone’s input is valuable in helping us to provide programs, and build a sacred space, that supports the practices of our community.
If you wish to offer seva, feel free to contact our center: (866) 889-4407
Or you can email the center manager who coordinates seva opportunities:
